Moving swiftly on

I might be getting ahead of myself here, but it already feels like the end of an Era.

After five years in England, my departure date, perhaps for good, is a scarce two months away. I have to say that these have probably been some of the best years of me life (so far!). I came here for my undergrad degree and at first felt alienated and profoundly foreign, feelings that I now realise were the result of deep homesickness. I had a great life in Spain, and that too had come to a sudden end.

Of course university life has a way of dealing with homesickness just by the sheer amount of stuff that happens to you every day. And so, here I am, five years later and it seems like everyday I spent here was properly memorable. Homesickness replaced by a deep sense of belonging. The trips between Spain (my home country) and England gradually feeling less and less like travelling from home to far away, becoming more like trips from home to home.

Decidedly, coming here was one of the best decisions I’ve made and now I'm hoping that my new trip will be worth the feelings of apprehension that I get every now and then, albeit mixed with anticipation and excitement, towards my rapidly approaching trip to Auckland.

And now time to say goodbye to good ol' 39 rowena crescent, my home for the past two years. We've had such a great time here, that I guess it was but inevitable that this moment would come too soon.

Just done it

Wohoo!
The dreaded exams are over! That was one of the biggest pains so far, seriously, nothing puts a damper on things like being denied a proper christmas holiday. But that's all past and now i can finally enjoy the goods that 2006 has to offer, starting with a big houseparty this weekend to celebrate various events worthy of a party!

In the meanwhile im still trying to finalise details for me trip to NZ, there's some funding that I have to sort out (glups) which can be a bit of a pain, but hopefully ill get all the loose ends tied together soon

Bah! Humbug!

Christmas is here, but excuse my lack of cheer. Nothing can ruin a holiday as much as the prospect of spending your days locked up trying to get some revision done for the dreaded january exams.

I think what gets to me the most is the whole jollyness of the season. It seriously adds insult to injury! It's like the whole world is conspiring to make it as tough on you as possible, and even your parents (normally so keen to staple your ass to a desk) will start coaxing you away!

And what can you do? Erm, I guess be really organised and start studying early... so as i said, excuse my lack of festive spirit this year

First victim of bird flu in Paris

Haaaahahahaaa!

New Zealand

Wowowowo

I'm very pleased to report that I will be flying off to New Zealand in a few months! It turns out that as part of my course (forensics) I get to do a placement at a forensics lab, and I was lucky enuff to get a placement in Auckland.

I've been wanting to go over there for a while, everyone I've met from there was always really cool and everyone I know who's been there has come back grudgingly, so I'm well up for it!

It's still a while before I make my move (I'll go off sometime around may) so hopefully I'll have the chance to visit those places in england that I've still left to see, like them Stonehenge and... well... I dunno, but I'm sure there'll be something!

So it's been a while

So I'm not the best blogger in the world.
I guess I'm one of those people who get easily distracted, which doesn't help in the maintenance of a regular posts, but hey, it's not like anyone else reads this, right?

Wowowo

Ok, so i think I'm starting to get the hang of this.
So far I managed to succesfully change the links in the page. Now, instead to being directed to a taunting EDIT ME page, you can go to any two of my favourite sites in the internet at the mo:
Narutofan, which is a good source of the manga (which i recommend to anyone) and Liquidgeneration, which is simply a fun way to waste minutes away
I'll keep on playing with the pages and see if I can decide on cooler ones, in the meantime it'd be great to hear about everyone else's favourite sites on the net to fill the time between your cofee breaks. Posted by Hello
